Police probe robbery of former teacher
BEAUFORT: Police are investigating the robbery of a former teacher in Kampung Datung Melabau on Wednesday.

District Police Chief DSP Ismail Abdullah confirmed to have received a report stating the incident happened at about 2.40pm.

According to the complainant’s report, she was shocked to see an unknown man wearing a motorcycle helmet in her kitchen.

The victim attempted to close the kitchen door but the suspect pushed back until the woman fell.

The suspect then tied her hands behind her back using a transparent tape and took her to the bedroom, threatening to kill her, if she cried for help.

The suspect then took a gold bracelet on the victim’s right hand and two of her handbags placed on the dining table containing documents and cash amounting to RM2,300.

“The cash, including identification cards, National Savings Bank, May Bank, Bank Rakyat and Alliance Bank ATM cards, a pension card and driver’s licence were stolen with a total estimated losses of RM12,700,” said Ismail.

However, before escaping, the thief had also punctured the victim’s car tyre before fleeing on a motorcycle.

Ismail said the suspect is said to have worn blue jeans and a black jacket during the incident.

The case is being investigated under section 394/506 of the Penal Code.
