Woman found dead at Sandakan home

SANDAKAN: A 55-year-old woman was found dead at her home in Taman Sri Rimba, Mile 7, here, Thursday morning.
Sandakan District Police Chief ACP Abdul Fuad Abdul Malek said he received a report about the incident from the victim’s neighbour around 11.50am.

“A neighbour who smelled a foul odour emanating from the victim’s house contacted the police,” he said.
Acting on the information received, the fire brigade was dispatched to the scene to break open the victim’s locked house.
Police who conducted the investigation found the victim’s body sitting in front of the door of her house.
Investigations did not find any element of crime or foul play.

Abdul Fuad said the case has been classified as sudden death.
