KOTA BELUD: A man was killed after allegedly being beaten by a friend, believed to be due to a misunderstanding, in Kampung Gaur Podos here on Friday.
District Police Chief Supt Shahrudin Mat Husain said the incident was first noticed by members of the public, who then contacted the district police headquarters at 2.13am.

He said that initial investigations at the scene revealed that a 48-year-old local man was found lying unconscious.
"Further examination revealed injuries to the victim's head.
"The victim was pronounced dead at around 3.30am by a medical officer from Kota Belud Hospital, who was also present at the scene," he said in a statement.
Following this, at 9.55pm on the same day, a 42-year-old local man was arrested.
