Kota Kinabalu: Radio broadcasting reportedly maintained its popularity with 20.2 million listeners tuning in each week in the first half of the year.
This data came from the most recent Radio Audience Measurement (RAM), which highlighted radio's enduring charm, The Star reported.

Conducted by GfK and Commercial Radio Malaysia (CRM), the study found that, on average, individuals spent 12 hours per week listening to the radio.
The research spanned a period of six weeks from February 18 to March 30 and surveyed 6,000 unique participants aged 10 and above in Peninsular Malaysia.
To gather in-depth data on the reach and popularity of various radio stations, GfK employed 4,500 paper diaries and 1,500 electronic diaries.
The convenience and cost-free nature of radio, especially as a staple in vehicles, means that a significant portion of radio listening occurs while people are on the move.

It was noted in the news report that approximately 14 million individuals listen to the radio in their cars weekly, and radio listening at home is also significant, with 12.6 million tuning in on a weekly basis.
