Woman killed in Keningau crash

Tenom: A woman was killed in an accident involving four vehicles along Km 5, Tenom–Keningau road at 7.45pm on Sunday.
Acting Tenom District Police Chief ASP Ahmad Razali Shaari said the 56-year-old who was travelling in a Proton Saga succumbed to her injuries at the Keningau Hospital.

Preliminary findings showed that the accident happened when the Saga car lost control and hit the rear of a Yamaha motorcycle ridden by a 30-year-old man and his wife.
The impact threw the motorcyclist and his pillion onto the left shoulder of the road.
The Saga then swerved into the opposite lane before colliding with a Perodua Kenari coming from the Pekan Tenom direction.
At the same time, a Perodua Myvi which came from the Keningau direction rear-ended the Saga.

The accident left the 35-year-old pillion with severe injuries to her left leg, while the Saga passenger who was the wife of the Saga driver, succumbed to her injuries when receiving follow-up treatment at the Keningau Hospital at about 7am the next day.
