LAHAD DATU: Community programmes have become a platform for the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) to approach and instil cooperation among the people.

District Police Chief, ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail, said such programmes provide an opportunity for them to listen to people’s complaints and take action.

He said the community outreach programme is necessary to get feedback and information from the community.

“Through this programme, we go down to the ground to meet the people. We provide services such as review of summons for the community.

“We also set up a Volunteer Smartphone Patrol (VSP) registration counter which is a Rakan Cop Programme Expansion Project, a joint responsibility of the police and community,” he said.

Dzulbaharin, who was met at the programme, said that it is also in line with their slogan “The Police and community are never separated”.

He said the police have increased patrols in residential areas.
