Kota Kinabalu: Nine State Sukma bowlers are currently taking part in the Kuala Lumpur International Open Bowling Championship 2024 (KLIO24) at Sunway Megalanes, Sunway Pyramid.

The seven-day competition with a total prize of RM230,000 starting on Monday attracted many local and foreign players to compete in 12 categories.

Sabah Tenpin Bowling Association president Rozzainny Sham Talip who led the team said the bowlers need to be at their best to make it to the finals.

“All of them need to perform well at the qualifying stage to qualify for the finals in their respective categories.

“It won’t be easy with the presence of many good players from home and abroad in addition to the challenges they have to deal with the oiling pattern.

“They are also facing other states’ Sukma athletes who will be taking part as well in preparation for the Games in Sarawak this August,” he said.

The team with Mohd Kamsul Shah as manager and Mas Ayu as chaperon consists of Nabil Aiman, Emmanuel Fo, Brendon Liew, Bryan Liew, Dennis Lai, Nur Jeehan, Nurul Amirah, Dhaniya Marissa and Nur Aleeya.
