BEAUFORT: Residents urged Members of Parliament representing Beaufort, Sipitang and Kimanis, as well as Assemblymen from Klias, Lumadan and Kuala Penyu, to propose to the State or Federal Government to address the threatening number of monkeys in these villages.

A resident, Osin Jilon, said villagers are stressed by the overwhelming number of monkeys that cause a lot of disturbances in their daily lives.

“These monkeys not only damage crops and agricultural produce but also enter houses to steal food and chicken eggs, among others,” he told Daily Express.

Residents from Kg Kebajang and Kg Indomadi complained that monkeys have been breaking into their houses and depleting their supply of eggs.
