Rescuers help Mount Kinabalu climber suffering from knee problems

RANAU: Another local female climber became the 11th victim to suffer complications while climbing Mount Kinabalu this year after she suffered from knee problems on Thursday.
Ranau Fire and Rescue Department Chief, PPgB Ridwan Mohd Taib said the incident happened in Kilometer 3.8, Mount Kinabalu, at about 2pm.

He added that the case on Thursday became the fourth case for the month of May this year, and 11th for the year 2024.
In January, three climbers suffered various injuries while climbing Mount Kinabalu while in February (2), March (2) similar cases were recorded.
No cases were reported in April.
He reiterated his advice to all future climbers to take a serious assessment of their health before climbing Mount Kinabalu.
