2 more nabbed over KL nightclub firebombing
Kuala Lumpur police are still trying to determine the motive for an attack on a nightclub in Jalan Yap Kwan Seng early Thursday morning.
PETALING JAYA: Police arrested two more men today over the firebombing of an entertainment outlet in Jalan Yap Kwan Seng early Thursday morning.

Yesterday, two men were arrested in Batu Caves in connection with the case.

“The motive for the attack is still being investigated,” Kuala Lumpur police chief Rusdi Isa said in a statement.

He added that the four men arrested were all in their 20s.

Yesterday, Rusdi was reported to have said that based on preliminary investigations, the incident does not involve any extremist element.

CCTV footage shows four men riding two motorcycles stopping in front of the nightclub and throwing two petrol bombs before fleeing. The 45-second clip has since gone viral.

The incident occurred at 2.18am on May 9 based on the date and timestamp on the recording.

The case is being investigated for mischief by fire and criminal intimidation.

It was earlier reported that the police had recorded statements from the owner and manager of the entertainment outlet.
