Kota Kinabalu: Some 300 enthusiasts were treated to performances by local and international Jazz artistes at this year’s Sabah International Jazz Day (IJD) at the Grand Ballroom, Hilton Kota Kinabalu.

The fourth edition of Sabah Jazz was held in conjunction with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco) designated International Jazz Day on April 30.

The event was organised and curated by Sabah Human Development and Empowerment Association (Sahdea), an NGO promoting the sustainable regional development in Sabah through capacity building activities inclusion, solidarity and to improve the quality of life for people in the rural areas as well as to create prospects for the youth and disadvantaged groups in society.

Sahdea President Arthur Lee deemed Sabah Jazz a necessity, highlighting its status as the only source of live music for Sabahan Jazz lovers.
