Golden Sixty is Race 7 hot favourite
RSTC’s Sabah Ace battled hard and won in Class 3 race, Kranji, Singapore on April 21
Kota Kinabalu: It is show time tomorrow (April 28) with Hong Kong’s very best thoroughbreds parading in the Champions Mile Cup (Group 1) Race 7 and Queen Elizabeth II Cup (Group 1) Race 8.

For Race 7, all eyes will be on Golden Sixty, a generational horse, pedigree and King.  With an astounding record of 26 wins in 30 runs, Golden Sixty will again light up the racing world this Sunday.

Having made the Champions Mile his exclusive ownership over the last three seasons, he enters this race as favourite.

Japan has entered three elite horses for this race in Obamburumai, Champagne Colour and Elton Barrows.

“Obamburumai can attack and finish strongly.  Watch out also for Galaxy Patch, one of Hong Kong’s hottest talents right now, and the mile looks suitable for him.

“Regardless of outcome, there will be a tinge of sadness amongst racing fans as this could be Golden Sixty’s swansong race.

The QE II Cup Race 8 sees Romantic Warrior stands ready for battle in his historic bid for hat-trick of wins.  Only four horses including Romantic Warrior have won QE II Cup twice.

“Romantic Warrior faces stiff challenge from the Japanese entry, Prognosis.

Can Prognosis, along with Dubai Honour and Derby winner Massive Sovereign stop Romantic Warrior’s quest for racing immortality is a question that can only be answered this Sunday,” it said in a Royal Sabah Turf Club (RSTC) statement here on Friday.

Hong Kong races are telecast “live” at RSTC Tambalang Racecourse and Off-Course centres at Tanjung Aru and Keningau.

RSTC’s selected totalisator pools for Hong Kong races are commingled into the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s (HKJC) pools, thus providing dividend stability and same dividend pay-out as HKJC.

Sunday Race 3 at Tambalang, Magic Light and Beautiful Princess are top picks with North Star and Super Lady in the running.

The Lady of Light can surprise if she keeps pace and then strike late.  For Race 4, speed king Panglima Berantai can start well and lead and should be home first, followed by Lucky Express and Forever Princess.

Do not disregard the maturing First September.

Bombardier can be regarded for a minor placing.
