Kota Kinabalu: Three cases were recorded during the inspections of 673 business premises in Sabah under the Hari Raya Aidilfitri Festive Season Maximum Price Control Scheme (SHMMP).
Sabah Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Director Georgie Abas said two premises faced action for failing to place pink price tags, while the other for using an unverified weighing device.

He said all three premises were slapped with on-the-spot compounds.
Two of the premises settled the compounds, while the other one has yet to do so and was given 14 days to settle the compound.
A survey was conducted on April 5 at a supermarket in Kota Kinabalu in conjunction with the final day of the SHMPP.
Georgie said there were no specific complaints regarding traders selling price-controlled items above the maximum price set or failing to display pink price tags on price-controlled items.

The SHMPP implementation lasted for 15 days, including five days before the festival, two days of the festival and eight days after the festival.
A total of 19 types of goods were gazetted for the implementation of SHMMP 2024 in the State.
