Its Director, Azhar Kassim, said it is in the Sabah Fisheries Department’s Strategic Plan 2021-2030, the Sabah Maju Jaya Development Plan (SMJ) 1.0 (2021-2025), the Blue Economy Programme and “Goal 14: Life Below Water” under the 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
