The family history dates back to the mid-1800s, when Wong Loong and his brother travelled from China to Labuan to work as contractual blacksmiths in coal mines.
When their contracts ended, Wong Loong decided to immerse himself in the local way of life by becoming an artisan blacksmith in Penampang.
