Penampang mini libraries woo visitors
PENAMPANG: Two ‘I Love Penampang’ mini libraries (pic) were opened near KFC and 24hr Clinic in Donggongon.

They were inaugurated by Kapayan Assemblywoman Jannie Lasimbang on Feb 4.

Jannie said the libraries – which were completed under the Assembly allocation in collaboration with the Sabah Chinese Welfare Association – would benefit the community and enrich the lives of individuals by creating a more knowledgeable society.

“From a public telephone booth, it has now been modified into a mini library to increase the interest in reading and improve the knowledge of the community.

“People are encouraged to come to this mini library either to read or donate books, we are very welcoming. Let us take care of it and also take advantage of this for the good of all of us,” she said.

Also present were Officer from the Penampang Parliamentary Office Richard Chong, Kapayan Community Development Leader Cyril Liew, Community Development Officer Kenneth Wong,

District Developer from the UPPM Office, Sabah Chinese Welfare Association Chairman Hendry Yap and officers from the Kapayan Assemblyman’s Office.
