Kota Kinabalu: A Science Panel (SPA) for Borneo could possibly be formed with the help of Sustainable Development Solution Network (SDSN) Malaysia.

SDSN Malaysia Council member, Professor Emeritus Dato’ Dr Mazlin Mokhtar said SDSN is working towards establishing a Science Panel for Borneo for the Asia region.

“We want to form a Science Panel for Borneo  first as the island, also known as Sundaland, is one of the world’s large and important tropical rainforests, with the existing energy of the Heart of Borneo (HoB) Initiative and Coral Triangle Initiative (CTI).

HoB initiative has provided Sabah with a framework for state-wide sustainable development within a trilateral collaboration between Brunei, Indonesia and Malaysia to manage and conserve the rainforest that straddles the three countries.
