Kota Kinabalu: Former Fisheries Department Director Datuk Chin Phui Kong celebrated his 100th birthday in a no-fuss gathering at his residence in Likas, here, on Tuesday.
Born in Sandakan on Dec 26, 1923, Chin has three children Chin Wen, Chin Bin and Chin Kam.

Eldest daughter Chin Wen, an ex-diplomatic staff, flew back all the way from New Zealand, so did second daughter Chin Bin from Canada and architect Chin Kam who practises in Singapore.
The birthday celebration of a great centenarian was nonetheless a low-key private affair restricted to close family members only.
