PENAMPANG: Sabah has seen an alarming increase in the number of HIV/AIDS cases, particularly among youths.
The increase is especially concerning because it demonstrates the vulnerability of the young population to the virus.

According to State Health Director Datuk Dr Asits Sanna, one key factor contributing to the increase is the incidence of cases among the homosexual community.
In response to this growing public health concern, the Sabah Health Department has launched a series of initiatives targeted at raising awareness, giving education and providing assistance to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS, especially among teenagers.
