RANAU: Only prospecting licence has been issued to the company implicated in gold mining in Kg Bongkud and Namaus and not licence for digging up.
Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, Datuk Abidin Madingkir,regretted that in social media, it is actually portrayed that the mining licence has been already issued.

There are two licences that should be issued for any mining to take place, - the Prospecting Licence and the Mining Licence.
“Prospecting Licences have been issued to many companies before. Their duties are to identify if there is gold or not. This will be produced to the State Mineral Management Board and the findings, brought to the Cabinet, which will decide.
