Sandakan potential to be like Penang

SANDAKAN: Icomos Malaysia (International Council on Monuments and Sites Malaysia) Secretary-General Ar Dr Mohd Zulhemlee An said the building structures around Sandakan city which had high potential for preservation and to turn them into different functions.Citing some of the unique structures and designs, he said it would serve as a reminder about the town’s existence in the early years, if those buildings are maintained for conservation.
He suggested that local municipality take it into their priority list in restoring those buildings for the sake of keeping the legacy and addressing green environment.
