Weihai appoints Federation of Sabah Industries as partner

Kota Kinabalu: The Federation of Sabah Industries (FSI) has been appointed as City Partner of Weihai from the Weihai Municipal Government of Shandong China.FSI President Richard Lim received the appointment from Weihai Global Partnership Center Director Chen Jin during his Sabah International Expo (SIE) Roadshow in China.ADVERTISEMENT
“It’s an honour for FSI to receive this appointment from the Weihai Municipal Government of Shandong China. I am excited to share another milestone I have achieved especially during my third year as FSI President.
“This special appointment was really a surprise to me when I paid the courtesy call to the Weihai Commerce Development Centre for the promotion of SIE 2023.
“Thank you to the Government of Weihai for the appointment and for placing their trust in me,” he said in a statement, Thursday.
The SIE roadshow was aimed at inviting potential exhibitors and investors to come to Sabah, and participate in the coming expo from Sept 21 to 24 at the Sabah International Convention Centre.ADVERTISEMENT
During the meeting, Richard also mentioned about SIE 2023 to Weihai Commerce Development Centre Lu Shaobing where they were keen to participate in SIE 2023.
“They are planning to have a Weihai Shandong Pavilion and also to bring in Korean exhibitors to join us in our expo this coming September,” said Richard.

On the same day, Richard also visited Deputy Secretary of CPC Working Committee cum Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of the Weihai Integrated Free Trade Zone, Deng Zhijian, to brief him about the coming expo.
Richard also invited Deng to lead a delegation to Sabah and explore more business opportunities especially to work together with the Sabah Government in building an Integrated Free Trade Zone in Sabah.
For the record, FSI has been working closely with the Weihai Commerce Development Centre since 2016 to showcase Sabahan products at the Weihai International Foods Expo.
In 2019, FSI and Industrial Development Ministry jointly organised a Trade Delegation there to exhibit Sabahan products at the Weihai International Foods Expo 2019.
