Labuan blasts Ministry on flights

LABUAN: The Labuan Chinese Chamber of Commerce laments that the Ministry of Transport approved 527 additional flights for various domestic sectors to cope with the demand during Aidilfitri but totally excluded Labuan.

“Why is that so? Is Labuan forgotten again? Labuan like all other major towns is also expected to experience a surge and may even be more given the fact that Labuan is an island and much dependent on air links,” said Chairman Datuk Wong Kii Yii.

He noted that early this month the Ministry of Transport helped ensure more flights from Peninsula Malaysia to Kota Kinabalu (118), Tawau (70), Sandakan (32), Kuching (102), Sibu (34), Miri (20), and Bintulu (14).
