Kota Kinabalu: A 33-year-old Filipino was charged with trafficking 99.72gm of syabu.Nordin Hassan was brought before Magistrate Stephanies Sherron Abbie to face the charge against him on Friday.

However, no plea was taken from Nordin after the charge was read to him, pending the chemist report on the drugs.
He is accused of trafficking the drug at 11.50pm on April 6 this year at the five-foot-way in front of the Kedai Kopi Ming Hiong in Inanam, here.
The offence under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act and read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code carries the life imprisonment or death sentence, and whipping at least 15 strokes, on conviction.
The court set June 13 this year for mention and no bail was offered to Nordin as the charge against him has no provision for bail.

Inspector Navind Kumar Vijayan prosecuted the case while Nordin was not represented.
