JESSELTON, Thurs. – Jesselton Town Board has approved the appointment of Mr Chung Kon Fatt as Town Board Inspector. Approval was given on the recommendations of the Finance and General Purposes Committee.

Jesselton Town Board Inspector Mr Martin Chee Nyuk Hyen is now in Australia under the Colombo Plan taking a special course in meat inspection and public health. He is due to return to North Borneo in the early part of next year and will establish a new section for the inspection of slaughtered meat, under the Town Board.

Addressing water woes

JESSELTON. – At the Jesselton Town Board meeting on 27th September the Deputy Chairman, the Hon Lai En Kong, outlined the general nature of complaints by water consumers against the Water Authority.

A PWD representative attending the meeting explained the position and drew attention to the fact that complaints should not be made to the Jesselton Town Board or any other body. All complaints with regard to the supply of water, and water bills, in respect of water supplies in the Jesselton Town Board area should be addressed to the PWD Divisional Engineer, Kepayan, Jesselton, telephone 4301.
