Unfair remark by Customs boss on SST

The Statement by Custom Director General Datuk Seri Subromaniam Tholasy on the front page of Daily Express on Monday, 13th August 2018 “Heavier Penalties For SST Cheats” is uncalled for.
This implies that Sabahans are cheaters. Sabahans are just like any other citizens be in Sarawak or Malaya.
Statements like this make Sabahans more and more anti-Federal. Senior civil servants or Heads of Department from Kuala Lumpur coming to Sabah have no other statement to make.
If no statement to make just keep their mouths shut.
In this case Subromaniam should have said “the Customs Department wanted everybody to operate with any taxation imposed by the Federal Government for the benefit of all.
All money collected will be equally distributed throughout the nation”.
Hopefully, Sabahans will not be threatened again and again. Please do not add more salt to the wound that needs curing.
