Upset over radio station

I AM a regular listener of Kupikupifm but I was disappointed to read your recent report about the private radio station being made use of by a political party to win with the general elections to be held this year or early next year.

I am referring to the agreement the radio station had made to help Malaysia’s only all-in-the-family party’s chances in the elections. Since the radio station wants to help the party run by a father, son and wife, being the party’s president, Deputy President and Wanita head, it can count me out as one of its avid listeners from now.

I won’t be surprised if the radio station loses many more listeners. Even a government radio station would not stoop itself to the extent of allowing just one “family” party to make use of it just to ensure victory for one constituency whose backwardness has been blamed on the very party.

We still remember the party president was dragged to court over the manner in which he won the seat previously and was also almost assaulted on Nomination Day.

The public can count themselves fortunate that KupiKupifm is not the only private radio station around.
