Sabah’s junior tenpin bowlers shine

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s junior tenpin bowlers shone at the National Talent Camp organised by National Sports Council and Malaysia Tenpin Bowling Congress (MTBC) held at the Sunway Megalanes in Selangor on May 7.

Sabah was represented by 14-year-old Tristen Lee Yan Wai from Tshung Tsin Secondary School and Miasara Adawiyah Saiful, 13, from SM All Saints’.

Tristen was crowned boys’ champion with a pin drop of 1,294 in the evaluation sessions (competition among the participants), while Miasara was placed in seventh place among the girls.

Sabah Tenpin Bowling Association president Rozzainny Sham Talip said a total 25 athletes throughout the country took part in the programme.

The main objective was to unearth talents gathered from each state and the programme  involved fitness test, talent identification and the evaluation session.

Tristen was presented with the prize from MTBS secretary general Maradona Chok and also present at the closing ceremony were Joherman Amir from National Sports Council and national tenpin coach Ben Heng.
