Hard work, dedication, discipline and commitment are some of the keys needed to be a better player.
WHAT a disastrous outing! The national Under-23 squad lost their final game in the AFC (Asian Football Confederation) Under-23 Asian Cup Qatar 2024 competition with a 1-2 defeat to Kuwait at the Al-Janoub Stadium on Tuesday.

It was our third loss in Group D following an earlier 0-2 defeat to Uzbekistan in the opener at Khalifa International Stadium on April 17 and another 0-2 loss to Vietnam in the second match played also at the Khalifa International Stadium on April 20.

We ended with zero point and scored only one goal in the group stage and the question is what went wrong for the boys and it was the same question we posed to the senior team after their early exit at the AFC Asian Cup in Doha last October, but at least they managed to earn a point from a spirited display in the 3-3 draw with South Korea.

Coach Juan Torres Garrido was very apologetic after his team failed to meet the quarter-final target placed by Football Association of Malaysia (FAM).
