SANDAKAN: The public are advised to undergo medical screening if they have persistent coughing and other related symptoms of Tuberculosis.

Chairman of Advisor Panel for Sandakan Health Clinic, Robert Chong, said this airborne disease could easily infect children and high risk group.

Therefore, Robert along with medical officers, nurses and staff recently went for another round of awareness programme at Taman Harmani.

“Taman Harmoni is under the hot-spot of Tuberculosis infection and Klinik Kesihatan has been monitoring and treating some infected cases at Taman Harmoni.

“As advisor panel, we are obliged to go to the ground to work together with all medical officers and nurses to record and handout information regarding Tuberculosis infection,” he said in a statement to media, Tuesday.

He was also glad with the cooperation of tenants especially during filing up of survey forms.

He said a continuous joint effort to give public awareness would be held from time to time to minimise total infection in Sandakan.
