Beaufort folks’ Aidiladha dreams will be realised: YB

BEAUFORT: The wishes of Bawang Tengah villagers to pray at their own surau will be realised before Aidiladha this year, said Assistant Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Isnin Aliasnih.
Over the weekend, as early as 8am, Isnin with the villagers worked together to cement the new surau building which is still under construction.

“This surau was built with money donated by the residents and I have also donated a month’s salary just to buy materials and tools in order to complete the new surau project before Aidiladha arrives,” he said.
All this time the residents have not been able to gather together because there are no surau or mosque facilities and they have to hitch a ride to pray in a nearby village.
Insin said the residents held a collection as infaq in addition to his donation to realise the hopes of the residents here.
“This is the only way we are trying to build this surau without needing help from the Government and for the sake of spreading the teachings of Islam and inviting young children and adults and the elderly to pray in congregation,” he said when holding a joint effort with residents of Kg Bawang Tengah to build a prayer hall on Sunday.

It is hoped that after this there will be no more residents who have to walk further to pray and stay at nearby suraus and mosques because Kg Bawang Tengah has built its own surau.
Insin hoped that this surau would give blessings and benefits, especially to the residents here, in order to attract more young people to visit the surau for the sake of Islam.

His hope is that many young people and residents will pray in congregation and be able to hold religious activities and not be marginalised from the flow of religious development.
Also present was Community Development Leader Matjun Yunus and the Village Head and Chairman of the Village Community Development Committee.
