Kota Kinabalu: State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Christina Liew is confident Sabah’s good response at the recent ITB Berlin 2024, in Germany, will translate into more western tourists heading here soon.

She said most of the questions directed at the Malaysian pavilion – the world’s biggest travel trade show – revolved around how to get to Sabah, which airlines fly there and how to see the orangutan.

They were posed by new tour and travel agents, travellers, influencers and even journalists and indicated interest in travelling to Sabah and exploring this destination.

The ITB Berlin is a “one-stop centre” for travel agents, tour operators, travellers to explore tourism products and services and tour packages offered by existing and (new) travel destinations.
