Exit of Karim won’t affect Warisan: Shafie
“As such, I assume Karim (right) is no longer interested. I do not want to talk much, it’s all up to him (Karim),” Shafie (left) said.
PUTATAN: The exit of Datuk Karim Bujang from Warisan will not affect the party, said its President Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

He said Karim, who was Warisan Permanent Chairman, was supposed to chair the party’s general assembly but he did not attend.

“As such, I assume he is no longer interested. I do not want to talk much, it’s all up to him (Karim),” he said during a breaking-of-fast event at Dhuyufur Rahman Mosque, Lok Kawi, near here.

The Semporna Member of Parliament said the party’s priority is to continue its efforts to help the people.

On March 17, Karim quit Warisan to join Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat).

On the six Bersatu parliamentary seats including Labuan, Shafie said Warisan would wait for the dissolution of Parliament.

Meanwhile, a prayer was also performed during the event about the current dry season.

“We sought help from God so that there will be rain to ease the people’s burden.

“The solution should be prioritised by leaders at the State and Federal levels,” he said.

He also presented contributions to single mothers and tithe beneficiaries at the same event.

Shafie also urged Muslims to practise the teachings of Islam to avoid extremism.

“The country is multiracial, hence mutual respect is important,” he said.
