Tawau armed grab: 4 arrested
The armed gang robbery case suspects arrested.
TAWAU: Police here have arrested four men believed involved in an armed gang robbery and causing injury to a woman last Friday.

Tawau Police Chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the suspects were aged between 16 and 43, with two of them being undocumented.

He said one of the suspects has several previous criminal records and drug cases.

“A team from the Tawau Criminal Investigation Division (CID) raided a numbered house and found a sheathed machete, a rope and slippers.

“The victim’s handbag containing important documents was also recovered from the house,” he added.

Jasmin said police previously received a report from a female victim who was robbed by a group of men of her handbag around 5.20am.

He said the victim was about to leave her house to go to work when the incident happened.

The case was investigated under Section 394/397 of the Penal Code and Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.

In another case, the same CID team arrested a foreign man who behaved suspiciously after a transparent plastic packet containing a crystalline substance believed to be syabu was found on him.

The suspect was taken to IPD Tawau for further investigation under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
