Hajiji approves allocation to build alternative water intake in Papar

PAPAR: The Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS)-led Sabah government has quickly approved a vital allocation to a proposal building an alternative water intake in Kabang for Emergency Water Supply Scheme (EWSS) Water Treatment Plant (LRA) in Limbahau.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor said he approves the immediate funding to build this alternative water intake as another source of raw water for Limbahau EWSS LRA as a long term solution to resolve the water problem water in the district here.

He said the amount of the allocation would be determined by the Sabah Water Department in collaboration with Jetama as well as ascertaining the period of implementing the project.
Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister who is also Papar MP, Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali had proposed that the second water intake is most viable to be used as an alternative water intake to source raw water when its existing intake is problematic.
