Kota Kinabalu: The lack of maintenance carried out on the balancing and elevated tanks for Melingsung Apartments was to blame for the poor quality of the tap water on the property.
Some pipe connection work carried out near a Manggatal intersection, on the other hand, gave rise to a similar problem involving the supply in the Inanam Laut and Rampayan areas.

Deputy Chief Minister III Datuk Shahelmey Yahya who is also State Works Minister, said the Water Department had taken the management company (MC) for Melinsung to task for the dirty water entering the Apartments.
“The Water Department found that the tanks had not been cleaned since they were first installed,” he said.
