APM breaks wall to rescue cat
The cat stuck in a hole.
Kota Kinabalu: A team from the Civil Defence Force (APM) rescued a cat that got stuck in a hole for almost two hours at a house in Sunny Garden, here, on Saturday.

Its Operations Disaster Officer Ezra Gandui Daniel said they were alerted at 11.59am.

The cat became stuck while pursuing a cockroach that had sneaked into the hole.

“After assessing the situation, our team got permission from the complainant to break the wall,” Ezra said on Monday.

Ezra added that the effort to save the feline was done with care while knocking down a portion of the wall.

“Our team used a blanket to wrap the cat to ensure its safety while breaking the wall,” Ezra said.

The rescue effort took an hour and 45 minutes.

Nobody was wounded during the rescue effort, which ended at 1.30pm.

Ezra said a similar scenario occurred with the same cat, which had previously become stuck in the same hole.
