Sabah Karate Association bag 15 golds at Kuala Lumpur Mayor’s Cup

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Karate Association (SKA) captured a total of 15 gold, 10 silver and 21 bronze medals in the 8th KL Mayor’s Cup Karate Championship held at Titiwangsa Stadium in Kuala Lumpur last weekend.
There was no overall title for the achievement and the seven golds, six silvers and 13 bronzes came from the Under-13 non sanctioned category held on the first day.

In the Under-14, cadet and junior categories held on the second day, they won another eight golds, four silvers and eight bronzes.
SKA was represented by a 51-member team comprising 28 boys and 23 girls led by managers Richard Ajak and Grace Tiwon.
Secretary general Julian Chin, who did not set any target for the contingent, was pleased with the overall results.
He congratulated the athletes, coaches and parents for the achievement.

Despite the success, he called on the athletes to train harder as there is still room for improvement.
