Kota Kinabalu: Women in Sabah are advised to be fully aware of their rights and legal implications when marrying foreigners with work permits or Temporary Work Visit Permit (PLKS).
Sabah Women Advisory Council (MPWS) Law Sub-Committee Chairperson, Senator Datuk Noraini Idris said many local women do not know that the temporary work permit will be automatically revoked under the Immigration law when they marry foreign workers in Sabah.

Under the law, she said foreigners who come to Sabah to work temporarily with pass cannot marry local women.
“There are conditions in the regulations that the foreigners must comply if they wish to marry local women whereby the foreigners must go back to their origin of country to get proper documents in order to return to Sabah and marry.
