SIPITANG: The Long Pasia team from Sipitang emerged as the 9-a-side football champions at the 2023 Lundayeh Culture Carnival (KJSBL) which ended at the Kampung Kaban Football Field here on Sunday.
Long Pasia beat KB Royal from Lawas 3-1 in a penalty shoot-out after both teams were tied goalless in regulation time to clinch the championship.

Long Pasia took home a cash prize of RM1,000 as champions while KB Royal, RM800, as the runners-up.
The Kampung Mendulong and Kuala Puntih Veteran Teams who placed joint third each received RM200 in cash.
A total of 14 teams from Sipitang and Sarawak participated in the competition organised by the Sabah Lundayeh Association (Pelsa) in collaboration with the Malaysian Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (Motac).
The prize presentation was done together with KJSBL 2023 Executive Chairman Sampson Kapong and Football Organising Chairman Lukas Tagko.
