“The road is not a JKR asset, but under the jurisdiction of the Forestry Department,” he said.
He said the Nabawan District Office had sought the help of contractors who were in the process of sending machinery to the scene.
“We (JKR) have also requested a road maintenance contractor nearby to assist in clearing the road which has been obstructed by debris, rocks and woods.
“We expect the affected stretch to be reopened late in the evening or tomorrow (Saturday),” he added.

He said he received reports from teachers who had returned to Pensiangan, stating the road was impassable.
He hoped the relevant departments and agencies would take swift action to restore the road and allow residents to use it for their daily activities as usual.
