Kota Kinabalu: Sabah’s caseload shot up above the 300 mark to 318 on Wednesday from 273 the day earlier, while two deaths were recorded – one each in Papar and Kota Kinabalu.

Sabah’s Covid-19 Spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the spike corresponded to a higher number of test samples, which was 3,291 compared to 2,835 the day before.

He said the positivity rate, however, decreased from 11.36 per cent to 10.39 the per cent.

Kota Kinabalu topped the list with 85 cases, followed by Sandakan (38), Tawau (31), Penampang (23), Putatan (22), Papar (15), Kota Marudu (12) and Kudat (10).

“More districts recorded an increase, with nine that recorded double digit figures. Only three districts did not record any new infections,” he said Wednesday.

Masidi said 312 out of 318 cases were category one and two infections, while three cases were each recorded in category four and five.

No new clusters were identified.
