Running out of container space
An empty container left near a residential area, awaiting transportation back to port.
Kota Kinabalu: Port inefficiency and the non-realisation of a promised port expansion have resulted in empty containers supposed to be taken away by ships stacking up, instead, at the Sapangar Bay Container Port (SBCP), here.

The empty outbound containers have been piling up, sitting on port real estate that could be used for inbound containers. There are also empty containers piling up at truck yards, outside warehouses and parking lots near the port.

This is forcing the port authority stop accepting empty containers meant to be returned to the port for ships to transport them based on their schedule.
