PITAS: Police arrested a man in his twenties suspected of being a drug distributor in a raid carried out at a house in Kg Gailun Laut, near here, on Monday.
Kota Marudu District Police Chief, Superintendent Zarolnizal Ishak, said the suspect was arrested by a team from the Narcotics Crime Investigation Division led by Inspector Mohd Redzuan Amat Lin.

“As a result, two transparent plastic packets containing lumps of crystals suspected to be methamphetamine or syabu weighing 53gm were discovered.
“The suspect, who had two previous drug-related criminal records, was taken to the Kota Marudu IPD Narcotics Office for further action. He tested positive for the drug.
“The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, if convicted, which provides the death penalty or life imprisonment and shall be punished with whipping of not less than 15 lashes,” he said.
Zairolnizal urged the public to always cooperate with the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) in efforts to combat drug-related crimes, particularly in the Kota Marudu and Pitas districts.
