Ex-state dept director nabbed for alleged RM1.2m bribes

Kota Kinabalu: A former state department director was arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today for allegedly requesting and receiving RM1.2 million in bribes involving services by two companies.
The man in his 50s was arrested at about 10am at the MACC office here, according to a statement from the commission.

The man, now with a different government agency, allegedly received the kickback involving towing services for the department between 2017 and 2018.
Sabah MACC Director Datuk S. Karunanithy said the suspect is expected to be charged at the Kota Kinabalu Sessions Court soon.
