Hajiji also urges calm.
Kota Kinabalu: Chief Minister Datuk Hajiji Noor said the so-called Sulu Sultanate heirs' claim has never and will never be recognised by the State Government as Sabah is a sovereign state within the Federation of Malaysia.
The Chief Minister urged people to remain calm and let the state and federal governments' legal team handle the matter.

"It is an absurd claim. Sabah's sovereignty in the Malaysia Federation should never be questioned," he said in a statement.
Wisma Putra and the Federal Attorney-General in a joint-statement previously said that Malaysia rejected a French arbitration court's order to pay some RM63 billion to the descendants of the self-styled Sulu Sultanate in relation to their territorial claim over Sabah.
