MyAssist MSME portal sees RM9.7m worth of potential sales
Kuala Lumpur: SME Corporation Malaysia’s (SME Corp) newly-launched MyAssist MSME portal has received encouraging response, getting more than 50,000 visitors and recording RM9.7 million worth of potential sales.Chief executive officer Rizal Nainy said SME Corp remains committed to ensuring the sustainability of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) amidst the current challenging environment due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“SMEs should take advantage of the services available on the portal to continue to do business in the new norm,” he said in a statement Friday.

Launched on June 30 this year, the one-stop business advisory platform assists SMEs in getting business advisory services, making appointments with business counsellors and taking part in online business matching sessions.

Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives secretary-general Datuk Suriani Ahmad said the portal not only helps SMEs in adapting to digitalisation but also in obtaining advisory services and business opportunities in light of the new norms.

“SMEs need to be courageous enough to transform, especially in doing business in the post-Covid-19 new norm, and they also need to increase their visibility on online platforms,” she said.

Meanwhile, SME Corp said it will continue to support the government’s recovery plan through various initiatives, including the implementation of development and facilitation programmes.
