Kota Kinabalu: Deputy Chief Minister III cum Minister of Industrial Development Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam said Sabah has an abundance of resources that are unique to the state, even the world, that could be capitalised and developed to increase the State’s economic growth.“We need to take ownership of our resources and develop it ourselves before other countries capitalises on our natural resources and products,” he said, adding that Sabah has the capability, expertise and talents to develop its own industries.

“IDS’ research data and influence with rural communities is vital in identifying and advising the Ministry on potential industries that could be further enhanced and developed,” said YB Datuk Dr. Joachim, adding that biotechnology is the way forward for Sabah’s local products.
