Contractor denies three counts of using fake bank statements
Kota Kinabalu:  A 36-year-old contractor was charged with three counts of using fake bank statements to get tender to supply dry food to the General Operation Force (GOF) in Sandakan.

Muhammad Taziuddin Tutuyoh (pic) pleaded not guilty before Sessions Court Judge Abu Bakar Manat, to all the charges against him, Thursday.

On the first to third count, Muhammad Taziuddin is accused of using three forged bank statements under the name of D. Putera dated April 30, 2017, May 31, 2017 and June 30, 2017 as to obtain the tender for GOF for the period from March 14, 2018 to March 13 this year. The offence allegedly took place at Lembaga Perolehan Persekutuan Sabah, Perbendaharaan Malaysia, Sabah, here on July 14, 2017. The offence under Section 471 of the Penal Code and punishable under Section 468 of the same Code which provides for a jail term of up to seven years, and fine, upon conviction.

The court set Oct 21 for mention as well as to serve the related documents.

Muhammad Taziuddin was released on a bail of RM30,000 with RM15,000 deposited in one local surety.

He was also ordered to report to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office here once in two months pending the disposal of his case and his passport, if any, to be impounded by the court.

Earlier, MACC Prosecuting Officer Clementine Severinus proposed bail at RM30,000 with several conditions to be imposed on Muhammad Taziuddin.

However, counsel Zahir Shah who represented Muhammad Taziuddin, asked for the amount of bail to be reduced.
