Kota Kinabalu: DAP’s Kota Kinabalu MP, Chan Foong Hin, urged the Federal Government to take stern action against the Philippines for what he described as an absurd, irrational act of provocation on the part of the Philippines’ House of Representatives.
Chan made the call when debating an emergency motion filed by Warisan’s Batu Sapi MP Datuk VK Liew in the Dewan Rakyat condemning the House Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Philippines’ House of Representatives in approving a measure requiring the printing of the West Philippine Sea (including its 200-mile exclusive economic zone) and Sabah map, on Philippine passports.

“As a Member of Parliament from Sabah, I find that the printing of Sabah map in Philippine passports and purporting Sabah as part of the Philippines is an act of provocation and rudeness not only towards the Federation of Malaysia but also towards the government and people of Sabah,” he said.
